New arrival check
Loads the latest data after the currently displayed tweet. You can also do this by double-clicking on the tab. If automatic update is set, it will be automatically checked at that interval. Automatic update can be set for each timeline, and the setting is done from the gear icon on the right side of the new arrival check button on the tab panel. (Except for Home, @, DM, automatic update is effective only when the corresponding tab is open. Also, the update interval setting is saved even if the tab is closed.)
"Settings" → When "Basic settings"-> "Load"-> "Check for new arrivals when focus moves" is turned on, when the focus of a tab moves, the update time is 15 minutes for home, @, DM, and 1 hour or more for other tabs. If it has passed, it will automatically check for new arrivals.
Discard the tab-specific cache and load the latest data. Unlike the new arrival check, the cache is completely discarded and the tab is recreated, so please use it when you feel something is wrong with the display or behavior or when you want to refresh the cache.
Automatic update (new arrival check)
Tabtter allows you to set the automatic update interval for each tab. Settings are made from the gear icon on the right side of the new arrival check button on the tab panel. Basically, it does not update automatically when the tab is closed, but it is special for home, @, DM, and even if the tab is not open
, new arrivals are checked at the set update interval. In this case, if there is a new arrival, the number will be notified to the icon on the toolbar.
The automatic update setting at the bottom of the side column has the highest priority and has priority over the individual setting of the tab.
The auto-update interval can be set to a minimum of 15 seconds, but keep in mind that this is not a always-on interval as it consumes so many APIs . Even with a high volume timeline of 180 / 15min, please do not shorten it more than necessary to reduce the load on our proxy and Twitter. Settings less than 1 minute are valid for 60 minutes only. After 60 minutes or more, the update interval will automatically change to 1 minute.
In addition, the shortest timeline for a timeline with few APIs, such as home, is 1 minute. You can check the automatic update interval of all tabs from the setting menu.
Hold new arrivals
While reading the timeline, if you reflect the new tweet on the timeline, you may have a problem that the tweet you are looking at is truncated, so if the scroll position is other than the top, the acquired tweet will be immediately read. The display is suspended without being reflected in the timeline. However, group tabs (extract tabs from home) and inactive tabs that have been active for more than 60 minutes are not held regardless of the scroll position.
If new arrivals are pending, you will be notified with a blue new arrival mark, and you can reflect the pending new arrivals on the timeline by clicking the number of new arrivals on hold or scrolling back to the top.
In addition, the new arrival check manually will be reflected immediately regardless of the scroll position.
Number of new arrivals
If there is a new tweet in the new arrival check, the number will be notified. However, if you use mute or NG word, the newly acquired tweets may not actually be displayed. At this time, the number of new arrivals will notify you of the number actually displayed excluding this hidden part. In addition, when checking for new arrivals on the active tab, if there are displayed tweets, the number is displayed, and if the acquired tweet itself is 0, "No new arrival" is displayed on the tab panel, but there are acquired tweets and the displayed tweets If is 0, nothing is displayed.
However, NG words and mute are excluded only when the new arrival display is not suspended, and when the new arrival display is suspended, the number of tweets acquired is simply notified.
The number of new arrivals is cleared by opening (activating) the tab, but you can also clear it without opening the tab by clicking the number itself.
If there is a new arrival in Home, @, DM on an inactive tab or toolbar, you can display up to 10 new headlines by hovering over the tab or icon. This function can also be turned off by selecting "Settings" → "Basic settings" → "Functions" → "Use new preview". Mute and NG words apply to normal new arrivals (new arrivals that have already been reflected), but not to pending new arrivals.
When a new arrival is acquired, it automatically scrolls to the new arrival position if it is not in the pending state. If you get new arrivals on an inactive tab and focus on that tab, it will also scroll to new arrivals. If you do not want to move to new arrivals, uncheck "Settings" → "Basic settings" → "Action" → "Scroll to new tweets", and new arrivals will not be scrolled and new arrivals will be moved up without changing the position. You will be able to add more. However, in this case, if the scroll position is at the top, it always moves to the top.
The expected behavior of new scrolls depends largely on the user's current usage status (whether they are reading tweets or just leaving them unattended, etc.), and it is extremely difficult to handle all cases. Therefore, it may not always work as expected, but please understand it as a specification.
Number of tabs
There is no limit to the number you can open (depending on your PC resources).
You can open it by right-clicking on the tab or from ▼ on the right side of the tab panel. You can make tab-specific settings.
The tab color can be set freely from the tab menu.
For user tabs, the tab color and the user's color label are the same. (The tab color of the user tab is called the color label.) It is not possible to set these separately or set only one of them.
Color replacement tool
If you want to replace or integrate the colors of the tab colors, use the "Color Replacement Tool".
The integrated tab is a function that allows you to create a tab that integrates all the tweets of the currently open tab
. You can open it from the ▼ to the right of the DM icon on the toolbar.
The specifications are as follows.
- Tweets in the Integration tab are tweets in the Home, You, List, Search, and Users tabs that are already open. (Also applicable when opened in the side column) However, search / user tab, home / you in cross access (separate account) are not integrated by default, and the tab menu of the target tab (right-click on the tab) Therefore, it is necessary to add to the target individually by "Include in integration tab". Home, you, and lists are integrated by default, but you can exclude them individually from the tab menu, as opposed to the search and user tabs. In addition, even if the tab is not open for Home / You, new arrivals will be acquired in the background when automatic update is set, so in this case you will enter the integrated tab. (If not turned off individually)
- When you first open the Merge tab, the tweets on the currently open Merged tab will be merged and displayed.
- You can integrate up to the latest 200 tweets on each integration tab within 24 hours. If there is a gap in the timeline, it will not be applicable after the gap. Sort these tweets in post order and view the latest 1000 in the Integration tab.
- After that, when the tab to be integrated gets a new tweet and a new addition candidate appears, the same processing as the new arrival in the normal tab is performed. However, due to the nature of the integrated tab, the tweets you get are not always newer than the timeline, so they are not always treated as new. Still, pending (the ability to hold scrolls and new arrivals when the page isn't at the top) is only valid when the tab is active.
- Reload recreates the timeline with the same behavior as when you first opened the integration tab.
- Multiple accounts cannot be mixed. (You can create an integration tab for each account. Individual exclusion / integration settings are saved for each account.)
- The tab from which the tweet came from is displayed at the bottom right of the tweet.
- The NG word is valid in the integration tab. (The NG word is invalid for the tab itself addressed to you, but the tweet addressed to you entered in the integration tab is valid.) Mute can be set individually in the integration tab.
Tabtter's multi-account is basically switchable, and as a general rule, the tabs that can be opened can be opened with the account you are currently using and cannot be mixed with the tabs of other accounts, but only some tabs switch accounts specially. You can open it without any problems.
The tabs that can be opened with other accounts are Home, You, DM, List, and Collection. You can open Home / You / DM from ▼ on the right side of the DM icon on the toolbar. The list collection can access the list collection of other accounts by changing the account from each menu on the toolbar.
Tabs opened this way become special tabs, within which the underlying account is not the account you are currently using, but the original account of the tab, retweets and likes, The account executed by operations such as reply also changes. Also, the account owned by that tab is used to display likes and mutual follow marks. However, when you open a user operation (follow, etc.) or user tab from that tab, you will be accessing with the account you are currently using.
In this way, if you open the home of another account, it may be difficult to understand what the execution account will be, so if you want to prioritize reliable operations, switch accounts as before. I recommend it.
In addition, it is a completely separate timeline from the original timeline that is opened by switching accounts, and timeline-specific settings (mute and update interval) and cache are not shared.
By default, tab widths are adjusted automatically. Basically, if it doesn't fit in one step, narrow all the tabs to fit. If it does not fit even at the minimum width, it will be multi-tiered.
If you don't want to reduce the width automatically, you can turn off "Automatically adjust width to fit in the minimum number of steps" so that the width of all tabs will be constant regardless of the number of tabs. In this case, you can set a fixed width. If the fixed width is empty, the width is automatically determined in consideration of the number of characters in the tab name, but in this case, the minimum width is valid.
Maximum number of stages
You can set an upper limit on the number of tab display columns. If there are tabs that exceed the number of display columns, a display / non-display switch button will be displayed. You can also switch with the shortcut key (t).
* Since this function strongly depends on the specifications of the browser, the behavior may change depending on the OS used and the version of the browser. In particular, the time it takes to close a notification is often set by the browser, so it may not be as set.
Currently, this feature is only compatible with the latest versions of Google Chrome and FireFox.
Desktop notifications may be turned off by default on the browser side. In this case, it is necessary to allow it in the browser in advance.
- Enable desktop notifications in your browser settings. (See browser help, etc.)
- Select "With notification" from "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "System"-> "Desktop notification" in Tabtter. (Here, the browser side asks for permission to use the notification function, so select "Yes". If you block the use permission here, you may need to reset it on the browser side to use it again.)
- Check the "Desktop Notification" option from the automatic update settings of the tab you want to notify (the gear icon to the right of the new arrival check button).
Notifications notify you when a new arrival (excluding retweets) is received on the notification target tab, when that tab is inactive or the browser is inactive. Due to browser restrictions, you can only view up to 3 notifications at a time. More notifications will be displayed in sequence, but in this case, it will be hidden in less time than the setting. In addition, desktop notifications will be muted and NG words applied even when new arrivals are suspended, and will not be notified if applicable. The display position depends on the browser (notification box) settings.
The number of tweets per page sets the maximum number of tweets that can be displayed per page. This number affects all performances such as tab switching and scrolling comfort.
The permissible range depends greatly on the performance of the PC and the browser, but the initial value is set to 50, which is the smallest value, so that it is comfortable enough for notebook PCs. It depends on the application, but basically, if you feel inconvenience, increase it, and if you feel stress when switching tabs, decrease the number.
Individual settings for each tab
The number of tweets per page can be set individually for each tab. (Right-click on a tab) In this case, individual settings are prioritized, so it is recommended to keep the total number to a minimum and increase only the required tabs. Individual settings are saved for each account.
How the page works
Tabtter caches the acquired tweets in the memory, but if this number exceeds the number of tweets per page, it will be divided and displayed on each page.
If you use a filter, the page break will be reconstructed with narrowed tweets, but tweets hidden by mute or NG word will not affect the page break. Therefore, depending on the number of mute / NG words, some pages may not display tweets at all. This is because mute and NG words are often used frequently, and it is inefficient to reorganize the page each time, and it is difficult for the user to understand.
In addition, the cache upper limit is up to 1000 regardless of the timeline, and if it is more than that, it will be automatically adjusted to fit in 1000. In addition, only the latest 20 to 100 tweets (depending on the timeline type) are saved in the local storage, which is lost when the corresponding tab or client is closed and does not disappear even when the browser is closed.
Reply / Quote Tweet
A reply is a tweet addressed to a specific tweet, and a quoted tweet is a tweet that refers to a specific tweet.
When replying with Tabtter, the reply destination tweet and the target user name will be displayed on the post form.
Basically, the reply is addressed to all @user IDs included in the reply destination tweet, and even if there is no @user ID in the sentence, it is automatically completed on the Twitter side. However, you may not want to include a specific user in the reply destination, so in that case, you can click and exclude other than the direct reply destination user.
If you want to include users who are not included in the reply destination tweet, you can add @user ID in the sentence. In this case, that user ID is included in the character count.
Quoted tweets are a function that refers to a specific tweet, but historically, it is based on what the user voluntarily started by including the URL of the tweet in the body, which Twitter officially started. When adopting to, instead of specifying the URL of the tweet by including it in the body, we adopted the method of specifying it as an option outside the body.
Tabtter still uses a more flexible way to include the URL of the quoted tweet in the body, but behind the scenes, if the tweet URL is at the end of the sentence, it will automatically extract the URL from the body and that. The behavior is to specify the URL as an option for quoted tweets, in which case the URL is excluded from the character count. (In other words, Tabtter's quoted tweet function is actually a function that just inserts the URL of the target tweet into the body form.) In
Tabtter, even if you put multiple tweet URLs in the body, all will be expanded. , Officially, please note that only the last URL in the sentence is subject to quoted tweets.
Quick reply / quote tweet
You can reply and quote tweets from the Tweet menu (icon) from the inline simple post form. In this case, the target tweet is self-explanatory, so it is not necessary to include the URL in the body of the quoted tweet.
Since this function is intended to make it easy to reply and quote, the options are omitted considerably. If you would like to attach an image or change your posting account, please use the main posting form.
Each timeline can also be seen on the side column. The @ and DM tabs are fixed and open to you and DM respectively. TL can display any timeline.
To display the timeline on the TL tab, select from ▼ on the right side or drag and drop the tab open in the main area. You can also drag and drop users.
Only the timeline can be displayed, not the follower list or trends.
The left and right positions of the side columns can be swapped. Change it by selecting "Settings" → "Basic settings" → "Others" → "Show side column to the right", or mouse down again for about 1.5 seconds on the column account panel (multi-account use only) or on the TL menu. You can move it by pressing and holding the left button.
When you click the user name in the main area, @ in the text, or the hashtag, it opens in a dedicated slide box. This is a feature that makes it easy for users and hashtags to see new tweets without leaving the timeline.
This function is only applicable when you click the user name or hashtag in the timeline (and user list tab) of the main area, and when you click the user icon or access the user from the history etc. Open in tab. Also, on smartphones and tablets, this function is always off, and you can also turn it off by ctrl (or shift) + click or "Settings" → "Basic settings" → "Functions" → "Do not use slide box".
Group (extraction tab)
Group is a function that allows you to group tweets acquired at home by user or keyword and extract them to another tab. This allows you to freely create a virtual timeline linked to your home. Keep in mind that groups are similar to the list feature, but unlike lists, groups are just a stock of tweets extracted from your home, so they are not a continuous stream. For this reason, it is not possible to check for new arrivals on a group-by-group basis, and there is no "read more" function.
Extraction and distribution to each group is performed only when checking for new arrivals and reloading the home. If you check "Remove from Home" in the group option, it will be removed from Home TL and will not be displayed in Home. If you don't check it, just copy it from home.
Please note that the amount you read more in "Read more" on the home page will not be sorted. For example, you may see tweets that you should have moved to a group with "Read more" (if you set them to be removed), but this is by design.
You can add users to the group by dragging and dropping, as well as from the add menu that appears by clicking the user icon.
If you drag the user icon or @userID in the tweet, a box containing the target user ID will appear, so drop that box on the Extract tab.
Precautions / restrictions
The Extract tab saves it as a persistent cache in local storage. For this reason, if there are too many groups, the cache capacity may be compressed and normal operation may be hindered, so
create a total of about 15 to 20 for Google Chrome / Safari and 30 or less
for other browsers.
Please use it as a guide for the upper limit of the number. (However, if you are using IndexedDB as the cache storage method, you do not have to worry about the upper limit because it has sufficient storage capacity.) The keyword description method follows the matching rule
The most basic way to use the Group / Extraction tab is not to overlook the tweets of important users, but there are many other ways to use it, depending on your ingenuity.
For example, if you create a group that lists the keywords of the topic you are interested in, you will automatically accumulate matching tweets, which will be a valuable timeline for you. You can also use the Remove from Home option to quarantine low-priority users.
Settings / history save / load
Tabtter's client has many user settings such as various settings, color labels, groups, and history. Most of these settings and histories are saved using the local storage function of the browser, but the saved state is not always permanent and may be deleted by operations on the browser side. Therefore, we provide save / load function and import / export function so that you can back up important settings and synchronize settings in different environments.
The data to be saved and loaded is as shown in the table below.
|Settings saved in local storage
||Settings stored on Tabtter's server
|Target of save load
||Not subject to save load
Basic settings (including display settings and tab settings)
Automatic update setting

About automatic and manual save
The save / load function provides manual save / load and automatic save / load. Automatic save / load is a function that automatically saves when the client is closed (when the browser is closed, etc.) when the settings are changed. The auto-saved settings can be loaded by selecting "Yes" when the next client startup, if no settings are found on the PC, you will be asked if you want to load the auto-saved data. However, please note that due to the mechanism of automatic saving, the user cannot control the contents, and there is no guarantee that the changes are saved reliably. Also, especially when used on multiple terminals, the automatically saved data may have unintended content because it is simply overwritten. In other words, auto-save is a function aimed at backup and recovery so that the minimum recovery can be performed when the settings are unexpectedly lost or when you want to temporarily access from a PC etc. on the go. Please note that it is not a function that automatically synchronizes with multiple terminals. If you want to ensure reliable synchronization on multiple devices, you need to use manual saveload.
Manual save / load can reliably save the settings and history at that time at any time. There are 5 storage slots, which can be stored separately. (The automatically saved data will be saved separately.) If you load it, the current settings will be overwritten and completely lost, so if you are careful, set the current settings to another slot before loading. We recommend that you save it. In addition, you can select the load target with the check box. (When saving, all settings and history are always saved.)
Other notes on manual saveloads
- Although it is extremely rare, there is an upper limit to the size of the settings that can be saved, so if there are a large number of user memos or mute settings, an error may occur and saving may not be possible. In this case, we are sorry, but please use import / export.
- The storage period is 3 years. (Settings that are older than 3 years will be automatically deleted)
Import / export function
With "Import / Export", you can download the settings to your local PC as a file, or upload and load the downloaded file. "Save / Load" requires the same master account (the account used to log in to Tabtter) at the time of saving and loading, but "Import / Export" imports even if you are logged in with a different account than at the time of exporting. Is possible.
The only other difference is whether it goes through Tabtter's server or your own local PC, and the basic functionality is the same.
About cache method (IndexedDB)
From the beginning, Tabtter uses the browser's local storage function to cache (temporarily save) the timeline in the browser so that it can be used smoothly again at the next startup.
From January 2019, it is possible to use a large database called IndexedDB depending on the cache storage method. IndexedDB not only increases the cache capacity, but also stores user information separately from tweets, so the latest user information is applied to the old cache and the overall usage experience is improved. You can also freely browse / search cached tweets (up to 1 million). To use IndexedDB, turn on "Settings"-> "Basic Settings"-> "System"-> "Use IndexedDB for cache storage".
How much tweets can be cached in IndexedDB depends on the browser settings and the remaining HDD capacity of the PC. Compared to the conventional method, it has not been used sufficiently from the viewpoint of stability, so if you have any problems after using it, please restore it. At that time, we would appreciate it if you could give us feedback on the problem that occurred.
When IndexedDB is enabled, it seems that some browsers may fail to start. In this case, try "Start with settings that do not use IndexedDB" that is displayed on the screen when you start the client and it fails.
About the number of saved items
The number of saved items can be set from 100,000 to 1 million. Normally, 10,000 tweets are enough for the cache usage of the timeline, but in the local cache tab, you can search (narrow down) the saved tweets and refer to them, so we assume such use. In that case, it makes sense to increase the number of cases.
Local cache tab
The Local Cache tab is a special tab that allows you to access Tweets and DMs cached in IndexedDB. You can open it from ▼ on the right side of DM on the toolbar.
It is possible to narrow down by words, but currently it is a simple match with only one word. (AND in space and OR in | cannot be used) The target of narrowing down is "poster's user name, ID (@user ID), body", but the user name and ID are tweet acquisition Please note that the target is the one of the time and it may be changed at the time of search.
Note that DM images are only displayed if you have one of the senders and recipients in your (multi) account, as it involves authentication.
The Tweet menu is a menu that can be opened from the upper right ▼ (on mouse) of a specific tweet. It is a menu that mainly operates individual tweets such as replies and retweets. (Including some user operations) You can also set shortcut icons that can be displayed with the on-mouse.
In addition, unofficial RT (quote) and retweet (your own tweet is possible) are not allowed for tweets of private users. (The menu is not displayed.) Regarding unofficial RT (quote), you can use it if you are also a private user, but in this case as well, whether or not the unofficial RT does not bother the user is checked. Please note that you are responsible for your own judgment.
Multiple Tweet Menu (Select Tweet)
The multiple tweet menu is a menu that appears when you click a tweet while holding down shift / ctrl to select it, and then right-click anywhere in the selected tweet. You can reply in bulk, add to scraps and archives in bulk, and like and delete all at once.
If you check the "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "Action"-> "Select multiple tweets with just a click" item, you do not need to press shift / ctrl.
2018.10 This option has been deprecated. You must always press ctrl / shift when selecting a tweet.
You can also deselect all with the ESC key.
Drag and Drop
You can drag and drop any tweet or user. To drag a user, drag the icon or @userID. Dragging a tweet drags the date and time of the tweet.
In each case, a small box of users and tweets will appear, so drop it.
For users, you can drop it on lists, group tabs, search forms, filter forms, side column TL display areas, and tweet creation forms. Tweets can be dropped on scraps, archive tabs, and tweet creation forms. You can also add a tweet by dropping it in the side column TL display area while scrap or archive is open on the side column.
Users and tweets dragged on the side column will be ignored even if they are dropped on the side column. To open a user dragged on the side column in the side column, drop it on the rightmost "TL" tab of the side column switching menu.
A contact is a local (in-PC only) historical database created for the purpose of providing quick access to frequently contacted users.
There are six types of contacts: access, reply, DM, follow, RT, and like, and when you make a new contact, that user will be added. Access is added when the user is opened in a tab or slide box. Follow, Reply, DM, RT, and Like will add the target user to the contact when you perform each action. However, for replies, only the @user ID at the beginning of the text is explicitly specified, or only the direct reply destination user is added. In addition, when the timeline etc. is acquired, it may be added if it is judged that it corresponds to each contact.
Normally, it is designed so that the user does not need to be aware of the contact mechanism and maintenance, but if a problem occurs, please delete it from "Settings" → "Clear history etc.".
Access and follow can also be excluded from contacts. In this case, check "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "Others"-> "Do not include follow (or access) in contacts".
The contact type is abbreviated as shown below.
Access → acc
, Reply → rep
, DM → dm
, Follow → flw
, RT → rt
, Like → fav
The storage limit is 2000, and users who have not contacted for more than a year will be automatically deleted.
@ Complementary function
The contact database is also used by the @ Completion feature. @ Completion is effective in the form that directly accesses the DM destination, side column or @ user ID on the start tab when @ is entered in the tweet creation form. @ Completion can also be disabled by selecting "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "Functions"-> "@, #Use candidate function".
Contacts are basically historical data, so you don't need to add users. However, since nothing is registered in the initial state, it will take some time for the data to be optimized. For this reason, we also have a function that allows you to open contacts and add all the users you are following from "Import" on the upper right.
Contact profile texts require a lot of space and are not subject to save-loading of settings. Please note that if you load the settings on a PC that does not have existing settings, the profile text will not be displayed at all. (I will update it while using it)
If you post with the automatic deletion option enabled, the target tweet / DM will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time after posting the tweet / DM. List of deletion scheduled, automatic deletion schedule list
can be confirmed from, cancellation is also possible.
Scrap is a feature that allows you to save any tweet. It's similar to likes, but it's all fast locally (your own browser) and never published. It's easy to use, so it's convenient to remember to reply, or save it for the time being when you don't have time, and look back at it later.
However, tweets are stored in local storage, so they can only be viewed from a scrapped browser. Also, if you clear the cache, the scrap will also be deleted. So basically think of it as a temporary storage space, not a permanent storage space. (If you don't want it to disappear, or if you want to access it from multiple environments, save it in the archive.) You
can save up to 200 scraps, and they are arranged in chronological order regardless of the save order. The scrap information is a snapshot when saved, but you can also get the latest tweets and update them in the Tweet menu (or the menu when multiple tweets are selected). Basically, the content of the tweet will not be changed, but if the user information etc. is changed or the URL of the image is changed due to the specification change on the Twitter side etc., the icon or image will not be displayed If there is any inconvenience in that case, please update it.
Please note that tweets that have been deleted on the Twitter side are still saved on the scrap side, so please be careful when replying or quoting. (Like and retweet will only result in an error and will not cause any problems.)
Archive sharing is an option that allows you to give access, add / delete rights, and share to any specified user. After creating the archive, open the archive in a tab and set the sharing option from "Sharing" in the owner menu.
It's easy to use, just enter the @user ID in the View, View & Add / Delete fields, separated by line breaks. This will automatically appear in the target user's archive list and in the archive selection menu when adding a tweet (DM). Keep in mind that if the target user changes the user ID, this field will also need to change. The user ID is not case sensitive.
* To access the shared archive, you need to be logged in to Tabtter with the specified user ID.
* Archives that can be accessed in the sharing settings are not included in the archive creation limit.
Collection is an official Twitter feature that allows you to create a timeline that collects tweets on a specific theme.
For the basic specifications, please see the information below for developers.
usage is basically the same as the archives and scraps provided by Tabtter. Create a collection from the collection menu on the toolbar and select the collection you want to add from the Tweet menu to add it.
You can drag the date of a tweet and drop it on the tab or side column of the collection to add it, or select multiple tweets (ctrl + click) to add / delete them all at once.
In addition, in the collection, you can specify the order of tweets according to the posting date and time or the order of addition, and in the case of the order of addition, it is also possible to sort later, but Tabtter currently sorts Please note that we do not provide any functions.
User memo is a function that allows any user to add a memo that only they can see. The note appears next to the name on the timeline, with the first 20 characters displayed. Click to display all notes.
Notes can be set individually from the user menu, or edited and imported together. This is useful, for example, if you want to share your notes with other users. To import / export memos, go to "Settings" → "User memo list".
The format of the data to be imported is
It will be. Please also refer to the data displayed in the export.
The import is an addition to an existing note, overwriting any notes of the same user.
Soft blocks are software blocks that are valid only in Tabtter. Unlike normal blocks (official Twitter blocks), it is valid only for Tabtter, but the advantages of soft blocks are that they are "unknown to the other party", "applicable to searches", and "valid for multiple accounts". However, unlike normal blocking, you cannot block the other party from seeing your tweet.
Basically, it's intended for users who spam buzzwords in search, or who don't want to block or unfollow relationships. If you want to block the follow-up and the viewing of tweets from the other party, please use the normal block.
If you execute the soft block, the tweets you have already acquired will also be deleted. After that, even if you unblock the soft block immediately, the tweet will not be restored. Of course, it can be reacquired by reloading, but please note that it is a completely different function from mute, which is temporarily hidden.
To cancel the soft block, you can edit it directly from "Settings" → "Soft block", or you can open the corresponding user tab and delete it from there.
Note that softblock works the same as the mute block option, but is a fairly powerful feature that applies to all accounts and all timelines. For example, if you want to soft block only at home, it is better to use the mute "No expiration date + block option". This way, you can also see the user's tweets.
This is different from the official Twitter feature, Mute. In Tabtter, Twitter mute is called official mute. For the official mute specifications, see Twitter Help.
Mute is a function that hides tweets from the timeline for a specific user, posting client, or word. It is usually applied by account and timeline, and you can set an expiration date, which will be automatically canceled after the expiration date.
To mute a user / client, select "Mute this person" or "Mute (client name)" from each user menu / tweet menu. Word mute is added from the context menu (right-click menu) of the target tab or the context menu when text is selected. (Half-width alphabets are not case-sensitive.)
User mute can display a shortcut button under the icon on the timeline. You can also set the specified value of the expiration date with this button. ("Settings"-> "Display settings"-> "Tweets"-> "Show mute button")
If there is a muted tweet in any type, an icon will be displayed next to the new arrival check button, and you can check the details by clicking it. I can do it. (If this is annoying, you can hide it by selecting "Settings" → "Display settings" → "Tab panel" → "Hide the number of mute / NG words".)
Mute is basically all timelines. It can be set on tabs, but if you enable the sharing option, it will only be enabled on the target tab (Home (Group), List, Search, Integration tab).
If you check "Share with other tabs" in the mute expiration date specification menu, it will be enabled for all the tabs targeted for sharing options (Home (Group), List, Search, Integration tab). However, in multi-account, it does not apply across accounts. This option is not displayed on tabs that are not covered by the sharing option. Also, this option cannot be used at the same time as the block option. (Because there is a possibility of unexpected effects in a wide range)
If you check "Destroy Tweet" in the mute expiration date specification menu, the tweet corresponding to the mute will be discarded without being retained in the timeline cache.
This is the same mechanism as soft block, and tweets are not retained, so you can not check whether it is muted from the tab panel. Also, even if the mute expires, the new arrival check will not display the tweets before the latest tweet (muted and discarded) on the corresponding timeline. (Of course, it is possible to re-acquire by reloading etc.)
Please note that if you mute with the block option, the corresponding tweets will be immediately discarded even from the acquired tweets. Also, it cannot be used at the same time as the "Body only" and "Share on other tabs" options.
Body only hidden option
If you check "Body only" in the mute expiration date specification menu, only the body will be hidden. The hidden text can be displayed or previewed on the spot.
About quoted tweets
For quoted tweets in the mute target timeline, only user mute and word mute apply. However, for word mute, matching with reference to the status value is ignored. In addition, quoted tweets are not completely hidden, they can be displayed by clicking.
About Twitter Official Mute
Regarding Twitter official mute, it is unknown how it is applied at the API level, but Tabtter applies the user mute setting as a mute for quoted tweets on Home @ and its timeline. The official keyword mute cannot be obtained by API, so Tabtter does not apply it independently.
Apply Twitter official block
Users blocked by Twitter official block are usually blocked only at home @ via API, but since it can also be applied to search on the official site, Tabtter side applies this block setting as mute. .. The target timeline is only the basic timeline (Home / @ / DM), list and search. Home / @ / DM should normally be blocked on the API side, but for the time being, it is targeted.
If you do not need this mute, you can turn it off by unchecking "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "Others"-> "Use official block settings for mute".
Also, in the case of multi-account, you can also set to block across accounts. (Whether to block users blocked by account A in account B) In this case, check "Share blocks with multiple accounts".
However, the block list does not automatically acquire the list of all multi-accounts, but it is acquired when the account is switched on the client, so if you do not switch accounts regularly, the block list of that account will be obtained. It will not be updated.
Also, the block list is cached locally, so if you block it on the official website or other clients, it may not be reflected immediately.
A feature that highlights specific words in a tweet. Basically, write the words on the form of the color you want to highlight, separated by line breaks. You can also set the highlight color. If the design is dark, the default highlight color will also be dark, but if you specify it yourself, that color will be used regardless of the design.
As a precaution regarding matching, first, the matching order is to match in the order of the longest highlight word. It does not depend on the position or color of the word. If the first matched word completely contains the later words, it will match, but if the first matched word is straddled by the later words, it will not match. For example, if "Aiue Okakikukeko" is the tweet text and "Iueoka" and "Okakiku" are set as the highlight words, "Iueoka" will match first, but later "Okakiku". Does not match because it straddles "oka". However, this situation is quite rare, as you would normally set a word with a word. Also, you cannot cross links (including screen name (@user ID) and hashtag).
Currently, the following words cannot be set.
-Words with only one number-Words
with 64 or more characters In
addition, words are not case sensitive.
About regular expressions
It does not support
regular expressions ( << .. >> ) that can be used in NG words .
However, it has its own wildcards dedicated to highlight words.
[\ d] Match a single number
[\ dd] Match a string of numbers
[\ w] Match a single alphanumeric character
[\ ww] Match an alphanumeric string
[\?] Match any single character
[\? ?] Match any string
These are used by embedding them directly in the word.
Wildcards cannot cross links (including screen names (@user ID) and hashtags).
* Please note that too many highlights may adversely affect performance such as switching tabs.
Hides the tweet if the specified word exists in the tweet body. Basically, one line is one rule, and the description method follows the matching rule
. NG Word has some functions with Word Mute, but unlike Word Mute, there is no expiration date set, and in the case of multi-account, it is used in common by all accounts. As for the applied timeline, word mute is applied individually, while NG word is applied to all timelines of Home (Group), List, Search, and Integration tab
. (It does not apply to @ and DM.) Basically, it is better to use the semi-permanent NG specification with the NG word function and the temporary setting with mute.
If there is a tweet that is hidden by the NG word, an icon will be displayed next to the new arrival check button, and you can check the details by clicking it. (If this is annoying, you can hide it by selecting "Settings" → "Display settings" → "Tab panel" → "Hide the number of mute / NG words".)
Adding <!> At the
beginning of the line enables the block option. If the block option is enabled, an NG check will be performed when a tweet is retrieved, and the corresponding tweet will be discarded without being retained in the timeline cache. In this case, the tweet is not retained, so you can not check whether it is NG on the tab panel. (However, unlike the mute block option, tweets that have already been acquired are not discarded but only hidden.)
Hide text only
By adding <#> at the
beginning of the line, only the body is hidden. The hidden text can be displayed or previewed on the spot.
About quoted tweets
Tab specification option
By default, the target timeline applies to all Home (Group), List, Search, and Integration tabs, but you can specify the target tabs individually.
/ home Home
/ integration Integration tab
/ group (: groupname ) Group tab
/ search (: keyword ) Search tab
/ list (: list_name @ list_owner ) List tab Put
these at the end of the word .
Multiple can be specified by separating with, (comma). Also, / -denies it.
groupname , keyword , list_name are partial matches.
The easiest way is to just line up the words you want to NG with line breaks. It's basically a simple match (case insensitive), but it's a space-separated AND match and a | -separated OR match. Adding-to the beginning of a word makes it NOT. See Matching Rules
for more information.

Filter is a function to narrow down tweets from the timeline with specified keywords. The description method follows the matching rule
, but as a specification only for the filter, the match target is the tweet body, the poster's screen name (@user ID), the name, and the expanded quoted tweet (only the body and nesting is 3). (Up to the stage) is included. In addition to case, you can use highlight
match ( [highlight]
) without distinguishing between hiragana / katakana and full-width / half-width alphanumeric characters . Frequently used combinations such as-[rt] are prepared as presets. (From the history / preset on the right of the filter word input
) You can narrow down by color label (approximate color) from the color palette separately. (If you use it at the same time as the keyword, it will be narrowed down by AND.)
The quality filter is a function that can be used as a filter by creating a calculation formula from each status value such as the number of retweets, the number of likes, the number of followers and the number of list recipients. Normal filters can also be filtered by status value, but quality filters can create more complex formulas. Please note that this function requires some programming knowledge to create conditional expressions.
The quality filter creates a conditional expression from each of the following status values and operators. The tweets that are true in the conditional expression are displayed.
Once created, the filter remains in the history and can be reapplied at any time. You can also apply (AND) multiple filters at the same time.
Note that archived tweets do not have a status value and cannot be used in the archive.

. Please note that this may allow you to execute code that poses a security risk. Also, please be careful when using division, as 0 may be included in the status value such as tweets
In Tabtter, NG words, word mute, filters, group word extraction, and tweet alerts are judged by common matching rules to determine whether or not they are targeted tweets.
- Matching is for the body of the tweet (filter only, including user name and expanded quoted tweets), and is not case sensitive. Full-width spaces, line breaks, and consecutive spaces are replaced with half-width spaces for matching. Hiragana / Katakana and full-width / half-width alphanumeric characters are not distinguished only by the filter.
- Matching types include simple string matches, regular expressions, status value matches, and special matches. Basically, except for [ .. ] and << .. >> , it matches as a simple string.
- AND (space delimited) and OR ( | delimited) can be used. If you want to match words with spaces or special matches as strings, you need to enclose them in "" .
- Grouping by () cannot be used, but AND and OR can be combined. In this case, parse AND first. That is, ABC | DE | FG recognizes AB ( C | D ) ( E | F ) G. ABC | " DE " | FG recognizes as AB ( C | " DE " | F ) G.
- The-at the beginning of a word is the NOT operator (negation). In other words, the match condition is that they do not match. (-If twitter, match tweets that do not include twitter)
- Metacharacters (spaces, |,-etc.) Cannot be escaped with backslashes, etc., but they can be recognized as words by enclosing them in "" . You can't include " in", but in this case you can enclose it in << >> and match it as a regular expression.
Official RT is [rt] , reply tweet is [rep] , tweet with media is [media] , poster (RT user is also applicable) is [@user ID ] (exact match), posting client (RT) In the case of, RT clients can also be matched) with [* word ] (partial match), and tweets containing highlights can be matched with [highlight] (valid only for filters). In addition, quoted tweets, unofficial RTs, and replies that do not specify tweets are not included in [rep] .
[media] is only Twitter official images and videos. Other than filters, [highlight] is always false and-[highlight] is always true , even if the tweet body contains the string [highlight] or the target tweet contains highlights .
Status value match
It is possible to match by referring to the status value of the tweet and the user who posted the tweet (in the case of RT, the tweet user who was RT).
Describe as [ Status name comparison operator number ]
. The status names that can be used are the same as for quality filters,
and only the comparison operators <
, > =
can be used.
Note that archived tweets have no status, so all status values will be 0 on the Archive tab.

Follow status display options
If you check "Settings"-> "Display settings"-> "Tweet"-> "Show follow status with mark", the follow status mark will be displayed on all timelines and user lists.
The follow status is checked in the local DB created from the data obtained to display the follow / follower list on the side column. In other words, even if you follow or stop following, it will not be immediately reflected in the timeline. If you want to be up-to-date manually right away, update both your follow / follower list.
* Since the check is performed only for the latest 5000 followers or followers, if the number of followers / followers greatly exceeds 5000, this function is almost meaningless and it is recommended to turn it off.
Follower / unfollow notification / log
Follower notification is a function that checks followers once every 15 minutes, and if there are new followers (or people who have stopped following), notify or log up to 100 people per check. If you turn off this notification, you just update the follower list on the side column without notifying you.
In addition, new followers / unfollows acquired regardless of notification settings are saved as logs on Tabtter's server. (Retention period is 2 years) This log can be viewed from "▼" → "Follower / Unfollow log" on the side column "My" tab.
In addition, since it is a method to calculate new followers / unfollows from the difference of the acquired follower list, omission may occur. Also, since the target is the latest 5000 followers, if there are more than 5000 followers, the possibility of omission is especially high.
* The date and time of the log is the date and time when the log was acquired, not the date and time when it was actually followed / unfollowed. Also, because of the difference from the previous time, if the client is not started for a long time or if it is not switched in the case of multi-account, it will be acquired collectively.
* The order of display is usually the order in which followers are newly followed, but there is no regularity in the order of unfollowing.
* If you select "Off all" in the automatic update setting at the bottom of the side column, the follower list will not be updated automatically every 15 minutes.
* In the follower / unfollow notification / log, user names and icons can be acquired for up to 100 users, but if the user cannot be acquired for some reason, only the number of users will be notified. For example, if a user you are following deletes your account, it will be recognized as unfollowed, but you will only be notified of the number because you cannot get the user.
Tabtter does not specify any font, so the default font of the browser is used. You can change only the font of the tweet part from "Settings" → "Display settings" → "Characters" → "Fonts", but since Tabtter cannot detect what kind of font is installed, the correct font name is yourself. Must be specified.
The specified font is set as it is in the font-family of the style sheet, so searching for "font-family css" etc. may be a hint.
For reference, the general font names are as follows.
The settings will be reflected immediately, but if the display becomes strange, restart the client. If the display is still strange, restart the browser itself.

You can specify multiple fonts. (If you want to specify by alphabet or Japanese, etc.) In that case, please separate with.

You can set a daily usage limit to prevent overuse of Twitter. To use it, go to "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "System"-> "Overuse alert" and enter the daily usage limit in minutes. If empty, it will be disabled.
When the maximum time is exceeded, a pop-up will notify you, and after that, you will be notified repeatedly every 10 minutes, but if you want to continue using it after that, there is also a function to turn off alerts only today, so that please use.
The usage time is counted only when the browser is active (in use). The counted time is saved in the browser's local storage, so closing the browser is valid, but it is not shared by different devices. In addition, the usage time will be cleared at 7:00 AM local time on the PC.
You can check the details of the usage time in the account menu (the menu that appears by clicking your icon on the right end of the client toolbar). You can also turn alerts on and off today.
Add / delete list members at once
You can open the detailed information of the list of owners and add or delete members directly from "Add / Remove Members".
Basically, just add the @user ID line by line to the add and remove fields. As for the user name, only 16 alphanumeric characters at the beginning of the line are recognized, and any characters after that are ignored, so copy and paste the list separately downloaded by the member download function line by line. can also do. Up to 100 users can be entered at one time for both add / delete users.

Thumbnail display of external sites
If the URL of an external site (news site or blog) is included in the tweet, you can acquire and display the image included in those pages.
This function is off by default and can be used by turning on "Settings"-> "Display settings"-> "Images"-> "Show thumbnails of images"-> "Show images from external sites". However, not all URLs are targeted, the URL in the tweet includes the domain corresponding to the target site list, the official Twitter image is not attached to the tweet, and the posting date and time of the tweet is 3 days. Obtain only if it is within. Tabtter prepares this target site as a default list in advance, but you can add the site yourself.
Add target site
This feature is intended for those who have some knowledge of the Internet.
To add the target site, enter the domain (/ path) of the target site from "Details" of the "Display image of external site" option, separated by line breaks. For example, to add the URL https://example.com/news/20180831.html as the target site
, write example.com
. If the target range is too wide, extra communication will occur, so specify the path ( / news
) as much as possible to narrow down the range.
In addition to the domain added here, there is a list (default list) prepared in advance in Tabtter, but you can check this with "Check default list". Also, if you don't want to use the default list, you can check "Don't use default list" to target only the sites you added. If you want to partially disable the default list, - domain (/ path)
also be described as, you take off from the target. (Must be an exact match)
The target site has OGP meta tag and Twitter card meta tag, and it is necessary to set the image, but since there are many sites that do not support these, is it supported by the source of the site to be added in advance? please confirm. The URL in the tweet may be redirected, but the domain (/ path) described in the list is not the redirect destination but the URL actually included in the tweet. (For example, if http://shorturl.com/xxxx is included in the tweet and http://shorturl.com/xxxx redirects to https://example.com/news/20180831.html, example Even if
you target .com
, it will not match.)

Tweet alert is a function to notify you by sound and message when a specific word etc. is included in the tweet acquired by new arrival check or reload. Matching rules
are applied to determine whether or not the tweet is applicable. By default, the target timeline applies to Home, You, DM, and List, but you can specify the target tab individually. (The search tab is not targeted by default.) In addition, the notification method can be specified individually for each word as an option.
In addition, retweets are excluded from the target tweets. In addition, the number of notifications at one time is up to 50, and the number of cases that can be referred to in the history is up to 200.

Behavior of Twitter official block (RT block mute)
We think that it is desirable to leave the application of Twitter official blocks, RT blocks, and mute to the Twitter side, but since the scope of application is unknown via the API, Tabtter also obtains the settings related to these blocks from Twitter. , Offers options to apply independently.
The official block should have already been applied to the normal home when the API was acquired, but since the other timelines (list / search) are unknown, the Tabtter side provides an option to apply it. Go to Settings> Basic Settings> Others> Use Official Block Settings for Mute (on by default) to use the official block settings as mute in Tabtter. In this case, the scope of application is home, @, DM, list, search timeline and quoted tweets on that timeline.
Check on Twitter official website
Official RT block
It is unclear how the official RT block (a function that does not display the retweet of a specific user on the home) is applied to the tweets acquired by the API, but for home @, it is also applied on the Tabtter side based on the acquired settings. doing. For lists, go to Settings> Basic Settings> Others> Use Official RT Block Settings in Lists (off by default) to apply the official RT block settings to the list as well. Please note that in this case, it will be discarded instead of being treated as mute (hidden).
It is unknown how the official mute is applied to tweets acquired by API, but on the Tabtter side, the same processing as mute is performed for quoted tweets on Home @ and its timeline based on the acquired settings. Is applied. The official mute has users and keywords, but the keywords are not applied at all because the settings cannot be obtained.
Check on Twitter official website
Please note that these block settings are cached for up to 3 hours, so if you add / remove a block on the official website, for example, the block changes will not be applied to Tabtter immediately. Also, the block changes will not be applied to tweets that have already been retrieved and cached in Tabtter.
Also, if it seems to be blocked on the Tabtter side even though it is not blocked on the Twitter side, it may correspond to soft block
or mute with block option, so please check. (You can also check it in the block log.)
Account management / sharing
The multi-account function is a function to add an account other than the Twitter account (called the master account) used for login so that it can be used. Multi-account is not only a function to switch accounts, but also a function to share accounts and manage teams.
There are two ways to add a multi-account, one is to authenticate the account you add on Twitter and add it yourself, and the other is to have another user using Proplan add it using the account manager. The difference between the two is that the privileges granted are different. Basically, if you authenticate yourself, you have all permissions, and if added by Account Manager, you are only given the permissions set by the person who added it.
The number of accounts that can be added depends on the upper limit of each plan. In the professional worker plan, there is no limit to the number that can be added, but since the user setting area is required for each account to be added, there is a practical limit depending on the browser and usage method. Please check the following notes when using many accounts (10 or more) as multi-accounts.
- As a general rule, please use Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser. (Because the local storage capacity is large and the stability is excellent)
- Do not create large groups with all multi-accounts. (Since the tweets extracted by the group are saved separately, if the number of groups is large, the capacity will be compressed. Also, "Settings" → "Basic settings" → "System" → "Save in cache" added in 2019/1 By turning on "Use IndexedDB", the timeline cache will not use local storage, so you can create groups without worrying about the upper limit.)
If you pay attention to the above, you can use about 30 accounts.
It should be noted, is how to manage multiple brands in more than one person team, here
Precautions for the paid version
- The paid version is assigned to the master account at the time of purchase, so you must log in with the account you used to purchase to use the purchased plan. Although in principle can not be changed for this purchase account, if you want to change in some circumstances, here refer to.
- For archive sharing, the master account is the account to be shared.
The multi-account function is a function that allows you to add a Twitter account (sub-account) other than the master account so that you can switch freely.
For example, suppose you have Twitter accounts A, B, and C. And suppose you are logged in to Tabtter with A. At this time, you can add B and C accounts.
Please note that adding an account is based on the account currently logged in to Tabtter (master account) and then connecting another account.
In other words, if you add B and C to A and log in to Tabtter with B instead of A, you cannot switch to A and C. Of course, logging in with B does not cause any problems, and you can add A and C to B you are logged in to.
However, basically, it is recommended to decide the main account (master account to log in to Tabtter) and add other accounts to that account.
In addition, the account used for authentication on the Twitter side when logging in to Tabtter becomes the master account, and in the account switching menu on the upper right of the client
If the login status on the Twitter side remains, you may log in with an unintended account, so be
careful which account is selected on the authentication screen
when logging in. (As shown in the screen shot below, the account name logged in to Twitter is usually displayed in the upper right of the authentication screen. To change to another account, click the icon to log out and log in with the target account. you again.)
it should be noted, is a master account and sub-account to no functional difference in the client except for a part, set of multi-account does not know only to himself. In other words, you do not need to be aware of whether it is a master or a sub except when logging in.
The dashboard is a function that can display a list of mentions (replies) and DMs of each account registered as a multi-account, and changes in the number of followers.
As a mechanism, the new arrival of each account is checked on the Tabtter server and displayed as a list. @, DM displays the date and time of the latest tweet / DM, and the first 3 if there are tweets / DM within 3 days as a summary. The change in the number of followers shows the increase / decrease since the last check.
Normally, this list is cached for 15 minutes, but you can force a reload if more than 5 minutes have passed. The maximum number of accounts is 20, and if you use more accounts with multiple accounts, the first 20 accounts will be the target in the order. It is also possible to individually exclude it from the dashboard. By excluding users who do not need to be displayed on the dashboard, the overall acquisition speed will also be improved.
The dashboard can be accessed not only from the client but also from an independent URL. (From https://tabtter.jp/app/dashboard.cgi
) You can also access the dashboard (though it doesn't make much sense) even if you are not using it as a multi-account.
You can log out from the account menu (the menu that appears when you click your icon on the far right of the client toolbar). Since Tabtter allows multiple logins from multiple terminals, there are two types of logouts: "Logout from all terminals" and "Logout from this terminal only". For example, if you are using Tabtter on your office and home PC and you log out from your office using "Logout from all terminals", you will also be logged out on your home PC. This method is highly safe, but it is selective because it slightly impairs convenience.
Even if you normally use "Logout from this device only", you can improve security by logging out completely with "Logout from all devices" on a regular basis. Also, if you forget to log out using Tabtter on a shared PC, you can disable the login of the terminal you forgot to log out by logging out with "Logout from all terminals".
Regarding the usage environment
Supported / recommended browsers
Please note that normal operation cannot be guaranteed if you have installed a browser extension or plug-in that rewrites the contents of the site.
Adblock extensions rewrite the content of the page significantly, so if you use it, no operation is guaranteed. If you want to use it, please disable it in the domain of this site. (Add to white list)
IE has already been decided to be abolished, and the support status of the function is poor, so it is not supported.
As a general rule, we support the latest official versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari, but Tabtter is currently developing Google Chrome as the standard browser, so we recommend Google Chrome.
In addition, although it is supported so that it can be used on tablets (including smartphones) such as iPad and Android as much as possible, the functionality is greatly limited.
* In Tabtter, some processes are branched by looking at the User Agent of the browser, so be sure to set the correct default User Agent before use.
Frequent error "Local storage capacity has reached limit .."
This error also occurs if your browser settings do not allow access to local storage. Make sure that your browser security settings and security software are not too strong.
If this error occurs extremely frequently
, especially in IE series (including Edge), if you use it for a long time, there is a possibility that the cache that can not be deleted remains in the local storage and the used area is reduced. This seems to be a bug in IE, but it cannot be solved here, so please check and delete it by the following method. (Only for IE.)
First of all , please clear the timeline cache
from " Cache Utility
" . Next, check the capacity to check the
remaining area. It should usually be 4000K-5000Kbytes, depending on the amount of settings and history. Even if it is less than that, if the remaining area is 2000 Kbyte or more, there is no problem for the time being. (However, if you delete the timeline cache and it is 4000 Kbyte or less, it seems that there is a cache that can not be deleted, so problems may occur in the future.) If it is not 2000 Kbyte or more, use Tabtter Is not enough, so please delete it directly by the following method or use another browser. (If you get this error even though you have enough space left, it is due to another cause. We are sorry, but it is difficult to investigate here, so please consider using another browser.)
1. Save settings first
2. Clear the cache
Please execute " Clear all
" Cache Utility
. After this, check the capacity,
and if it is 5000 Kbyte, it is normal. (If you can secure 3000Kbyte or more, there is no problem for a while.)
3. How to erase local storage data directly from browser
If you cannot secure enough space in "2. Clear cache" above, in IE, delete the cookie from "Tools"-> "Internet Options"-> "General"-> "Browsing history". .. (Local storage is different from cookies, but IE does not have a way to delete only local storage individually.)
However, in this case, all cookies and local storage cache of other sites will also be deleted, so please be careful. Please be careful.
* Generally, cookies are data that are supposed to disappear, so I think that there is no problem, but login information of other sites may also be lost and you may have to log in again.
We have not confirmed the problem with browsers other than IE, but if there are many errors, try deleting the cache directly from the browser once as with IE. Unlike IE, only Tabtter can be deleted pinpointly. For details, see the help of your browser.
In addition, if this doesn't help, you may have too many multi-account users or groups (extraction tabs), which is squeezing your cache capacity. If you have added more than 5 accounts, try deleting the lower priority accounts. Groups also require a lot of storage space. Please use about 15 to 20 as a guide for all accounts.
In addition, an error may occur due to the effects of antivirus software and security-related browser settings.
* For reference, the local storage capacity of each browser is 10M for Google Chrome / IE / Firefox, 5M for Safari, and Opera can be freely set by the user. (As of August 2017) The maximum user area is about 100 to 200 KByte for each account, and the timeline cache requires a space of about 20 to 60 KByte individually. When the capacity is full, the timeline cache is automatically deleted from the oldest to the oldest, so the user usually does not need to be aware of it.
Suddenly the settings disappeared
Many of Tabtter's settings are stored locally (browser storage). Local storage is different from temporary storage such as cache, but since it can be easily deleted by operating the browser, we have prepared a " save / load of settings / history
" that can be saved on Tabtter's server .
There are automatic and manual save / load of settings / history, and if the settings are changed on the client, automatic save will be executed when the client is closed. Also, if there is no configuration file when the client starts and there is data automatically saved on the server, you can load this configuration.
In general, this auto-save can almost avoid the unexpected complete loss of settings. However, this automatic save is intended for backup and recovery, and for use so that the settings can be loaded only once when accessed from a terminal that is not normally used, and realizes automatic synchronization on multiple terminals. Please note that it is not. If you use it on multiple devices on a daily basis, please use manual save / load and manage the settings yourself.
I want to make the movement as light as possible
Tabtter's speed is basically inversely proportional to the number of elements displayed in the browser.
In other words, you can reduce the load on the browser by reducing the number of tweets per page (the number of tweets displayed per page) on the timeline as much as possible and not displaying extra elements in the tweets in the settings.
For example, using a simple Tweet menu and hiding the mute button, follow status icon, date and time, and client name will speed up the display and tab switching somewhat. However, the most effective way is to reduce the number of tweets per page.
Regarding time zone (other than Japan)
Tabtter is a client and other tools, and as a general rule, it is assumed to be used in the time zone (JST, UTC + 9) of Japan. For clients and post reservations, we try to operate based on the local time (that is, the time zone of the user's PC) as much as possible, but we do not guarantee complete operation. Most of the functions of the analytics system are output with the Japanese time completely fixed.
It is not that it cannot be used outside of Japan, but it is necessary for the user to use it in consideration of the deviation from the local time.
Regarding errors and restrictions
Click here for false positives of security software .
Adblock extensions rewrite the content of the page significantly, so if you use it, no operation is guaranteed. If you want to use it, please disable it in the domain of this site. (Add to white list)
If your PC is infected with a virus or adware, the site will often become extremely heavy or malfunction. If the behavior suddenly becomes strange, suspect a virus infection.
First, if something goes wrong suddenly, suspect any changes you've made to your PC or browser during that time. The most common causes are browser extensions and security software
Next, the general solution procedure Introducing. Try them one by one, starting from the top, to see if the problem goes away.
- If you change your browser settings when the problem starts to occur, try restoring the settings.
- Close all browsers and restart
- If you have extensions or plugins installed in your browser, temporarily disable them and restart your browser.
- If Tabtter's "Settings"-> "Basic Settings"-> "System"-> "Use IndexedDB for cache storage" is enabled, turn it off and restart the client.
- Log out of Tabtter and log back in
- Restart your PC
- Try to temporarily stop security software etc.
If you run from here on down, the Tabtter settings will be lost. Please save the settings in
advance . (Tweets extracted by scraps and groups are also cleared.)
- Execute "Reset" in the setting menu of the client (Tabtter)
- Clear the cache of the browser (Please note that login information of other sites may also be deleted.)
- Clear the local data (IndexedDB, local storage) of the browser (Delete these data cannot normally be executed from the setting menu. Delete only the data of * .tabtter.jp from the developer tools of the browser etc. pinpoint Please search the web for the method etc.)
How to identify the problem
For problems that cannot be solved by the above general solution procedure, check the following two to narrow down the cause of the problem.
- Try it with another browser → For example, you can see that the problem occurs only in IE, and if it does not occur in Firefox, it is an IE problem.
- Try the official Twitter website or other Twitter clients → If you experience similar issues with other Twitter clients, you know that there is a problem with the third-party API or Twitter itself. If you encounter similar issues on the official Twitter website, you know that it is a problem with Twitter itself.
If this is determined to be a problem on the Twitter side, basically contact the Twitter side or check the Twitter site etc. for any trouble information.
If an error message is displayed on the client, it is basically the reason for the message. Since the error returned from Twitter may be displayed as it is, the message may be in English, but please check the content on the translation site etc. Excuse me. In addition, errors such as communication errors, overcapacity, and technical problems are often temporary, so please wait for a while (about a day or two).
Examine the details of the error
By opening the developer tools with the "F12" key of the browser and letting the "console" know the displayed error, you will be able to solve the problem quickly, so please cooperate if you understand.
It is blocked when a virus is detected by security software
Normally, I think that standard Defender is sufficient for security measures on Windows, so if the security software you are currently using is other than the standard one and you are using it without understanding the contents well, use it. It is also advisable to review itself. (In many cases, you are using the poorly made security software pre-installed on your PC without knowing it.)
I get the error "The request cannot be executed because it consumes all APIs .."
Access to Twitter from Tabtter is restricted more than a certain number of times for each function. This is a limitation on the Twitter side. This number is set as the number of executions per 15 minutes for each function, and if this number is exceeded, that function will not be available until the limit is lifted. For information on how many times you can request which function and how many minutes it will be reset, click the status icon on the left side of the name on the side column "My" tab, or click "Profile menu (▼ on the right of the name)". → You can check from "Remaining API information". If there is even one function with 0 remaining counts, the status icon will be triangular! Will change to a warning icon.
I get only errors
Please understand that due to the characteristics of the Twitter client that requests a large number of APIs over the network, there are some unavoidable parts of the error.
In particular, "Twitter's processing power is limited .." and "timeout" do not need to be so concerned if they appear occasionally. However, if it appears many times in a row, or if it appears constantly with a specific function, there is a possibility of Twitter failure. In that case, I'm sorry, but please consider using the official website.
Operation etc. is heavy
Tabtter is a fairly complicated category for a web application, but resource consumption is at a low level compared to general web services such as Youtube, and it is usually a problem with the performance of recent PCs. there is no.
Recently, there are cases where you do not notice the infection such as virus or adware and mistakenly think that there is a problem on the website side, so please check for viruses.
We would like to investigate performance problems as much as possible if you report them, but it is often difficult to identify problems compared to general problems, so we may need your cooperation. There is. If you're reporting a problem with feedback, see also General Troubleshooting
, when the problem occurs, whether the problem is reproducible or temporary (if there is a definitive reproducibility, how to do it). Also, please let us know detailed information such as the browser used, usage environment, and PC specifications. In addition, it is often difficult to investigate the problem without asking about the situation from here, so we may exchange it by e-mail several times.
Automatic update does not work
Suspends updates when the Tweet menu or User menu is open. Also, if an error occurs, the automatic update may be suspended.
- If a communication error occurs, the timeline will not be automatically updated for a certain period of time. This time limit depends on the timeline: 60 seconds for Home, @, DM and 3 minutes for others. However, it is possible to update manually even during the restriction. When the restriction is in progress, open the pull-down menu of the automatic update setting to see when it will be released.
- If there is a possibility that the remaining API will be insufficient from the remaining API, reset time, and update interval assigned to each timeline, the interval will be adjusted automatically. Specifically, if (seconds to reset time / API remaining) is greater than the update interval, use that value for the update interval. (If there are multiple auto-updated tabs on a timeline that uses the same API, such as list or search, consider that as well.)
- If you get a fatal authentication error, all automatic updates for that account will be turned off. (Clear by restarting the client)
Likes and retweets are strange
If you add it to a retweet or like, a mark will be displayed at the bottom right of the tweet, but it may not be displayed correctly due to cache.
Also, since this information is stored locally, it may not be displayed from another PC. Retweets and reply marks are generated from the information of your tweets, so you can redisplay them by opening your timeline and loading past tweets. Likes have information about whether the user used for each tweet liked or not, so basically it can be displayed without doing anything.
People who are not following in the member list may be following
In the member list such as the follow / follower list, there may be a mistake in the flag returned by Twitter to indicate whether you are following, and in rare cases this phenomenon may occur.
Appears even though there are no gaps
When checking for new arrivals, a gap may appear even though there is no gap originally. The basic mechanism for detecting a gap is to compare the average tweet interval of newly acquired tweets with the interval between tweets at the boundary, and estimate whether there is a continuation (gap), but this method also As you can see, it is impossible to detect the gap 100% surely because of the mechanism, so please understand that the wrong gap appears as a specification category.
On the other hand, even if there is a gap, there may be no gap, so if you place importance on certainty, please reload to get a new tweet and go back from there.
There is a tweet acquisition omission
If you feel that you have missed the acquisition of tweets on your home page, please check the following first.
- In Tabtter, if the data structure of the acquired tweet (or user) is incorrect, or if it corresponds to a mute or soft block with a block option and is discarded, it will be recorded as a block log. By checking the block log, you can see whether it was omitted or blocked for some reason. You can check the block log from "Settings" → "Various logs" → "View block log". Also, tweets blocked by the official Twitter block cannot be acquired by the API, so they will not be recorded in this log.
- The data returned by the API may not contain the tweet, so please compare it with other third-party clients. (Especially the search timeline) If the results are the same, it means that it is the specification of the API itself, so please contact us on Twitter. (Twitter official websites and apps (including TweetDeck) do not use general APIs, so they cannot be compared.)
After checking the above, if Tabtter determines that there is an omission in the tweet, please contact us by e-mail etc. At that time, please also provide information that can be objectively judged to be omission (screenshots of screens compared between Tabtter and other clients, etc.).
The number of people on the list is strange
The list information of the list is cached for a certain period of time after it is acquired. It can be updated manually, but the number of people in the list is often not reflected immediately even if it is added or deleted. (This means that it will not be reflected on the Twitter side.)
Some information (URL and video) of the tweet is missing
Promoted tweets (Twitter advertising tweets) are posted from special apps, so some information such as URLs and videos may not be available. If it is displayed on another third client (an app that uses a general API other than the official one), but it is not displayed on Tabtter, it may be a problem on the Tabtter side. In that case, please report it from the feedback. It will be saved.
Why can't I know who liked it?
This is because such an API is not open to the public on Twitter. Excuse me, but please check from the tweet details page on the official Twitter website.
Why can't I see the list of replies to tweets?
Like likes, Twitter doesn't have such an API open to the public. Excuse me, but please check from the tweet details page on the official Twitter website.
In addition, you can search for replies with "Search Reply" in the Tweet menu, but since this is not a dedicated API but a normal search function, it is searched with an account that always has many replies such as entertainers and celebrities. , You may not get the results you expect. As a guide, it is effective for accounts that fit within 100 to 200 replies a day.
Why are there some official features that Tabtter can't?
First of all, please understand that Tabtter cannot do more than the API provided by Twitter. At the moment, there are almost no functions that Tabtter does not support, which can be done with API, and even if API is newly released, it will be supported as soon as possible.
In addition, some third-party clients may support functions that are not provided by the legitimate API by prohibited methods such as web scraping and disguise as official apps, but with Tabtter, it is 100%. I only use the methods that Twitter allows.
Currently, the main functions that do not support API are as follows.
- Voting creation / viewing
- Moment creation / viewing
- View favorite people
- View replies to specific tweets
- Group DM
- Photo user tagging related
In addition, there are many APIs that differ from the official specifications, such as the search API. We can't do anything to support these functions even if requested by us, so please send a request to Twitter to support it with the API.
The basic idea of Tabtter is not to completely replace the official website, but to aim for a service that can complement or extend the Twitter experience on its own. We hope that all users will be able to use it in combination with the official website.
I want to delete the number of new arrivals without opening a tab
You can delete only the new arrivals by clicking the new arrivals on the new arrivals display number (on the toolbar (Home, @, DM), on the group menu, on the tab).
There is a DM that cannot be obtained
The API related to DM was changed in August 2018, and it is now possible to acquire only DM within 30 days. (However, there seems to be no upper limit if it is within 30 days.) It has also been confirmed that there may be a delay of about 1 minute after DM transmission until it can actually be acquired.
In addition, group DM cannot be acquired from before. As you can see, the API support status for DM is not very good, so if you want to check it surely, please check it on the official website.
Thumbnails are masked as "may contain inappropriate content"
On Twitter, tweets that may contain inappropriate images (sexual or cruel, etc.) are flagged to that effect, but in Tabtter, thumbnails in such cases. Is masked.
If you don't need this mask
"Settings"-> "Display settings"-> "Images"-> "Show images that may be inappropriate"
, or check
the tweets that are displayed as inappropriate images.
You can also choose not to mask only specific users from "Add to Inappropriate Image Mask Exceptions" in the target user's user menu .
In addition, this flag is returned by Twitter, and it is not judged by Tabtter.
Video cannot be played
In Tabtter, if the video on the Twitter side has MP4, it will be played in the standard player of the browser, but since this is the simplest and standard method of playback, it is generally not possible to play it this way. Is considered to have a problem with the customer's environment. Therefore, first of all, please refer to the help of your browser and review the settings. Also, check if the browser version is the latest, what happens if you turn off the plug-in (extension), etc.
If you check "Settings"-> "Basic settings"-> "Operation"-> "Play video with video.js" in Tabtter, a library called video.js will be used to play the video. video.js has a fallback mechanism using flash etc., and there is a high possibility that it can be played normally, so if you can not solve the problem by all means, please try this option as well.
Does not hit in search
The search only gets the results from the Twitter API, so the usage is based on the Twitter search. See Twitter help
for specifications and advanced search options . Please note that unlike the official website, you can only get tweets within 7 days using the API. Also, it seems that the API cannot search the tweets of some users who are judged to be of low quality on the Twitter side. (Details are unknown because it depends on Twitter specifications)
If there is no hit in the search like this, there is a possibility that it is a bug of Tabtter, but usually, it is often the case that the API simply does not return the result, so please contact us. Before you do, try searching with a third-party client other than Tabtter to see what the results look like.
If the result does not change with other third party clients, it means that there is a problem (or specification) of the API itself, so please contact Twitter for the reason etc.
Side column follow / follower list icon / name is old and not updated
The follow / follower icon improves API efficiency, so the information of the already acquired user is not reacquired every time. Therefore, if the user changes or renames the icon, it will not be reflected immediately. However, I try to get completely new user information more than 6 hours after the last check or once every 10 times.
Also, by updating manually, you can immediately destroy the cache and get new user information again.
New follower notification is strange
New follower notifications notify you of the differences in follower data that you check every 15 minutes. However, if the API returns an incomplete error, it may incorrectly notify you of new arrivals. Please note that it is difficult to completely check for new arrivals due to the mechanism.
The list of retweeted users and the number of users are strange.
Tabtter can display a list of retweeted users of any tweet, but this list of users is often not very accurate. Please note that this seems to be a specification on the Twitter side.
A like mark that should not have been attached is displayed
There may be an error in the flag returned by Twitter (whether you like it or not), and in rare cases it may be displayed even though you have not registered a like.
The date and time are strange
The relative time display of the date and time is based on the time set on the PC. Make sure to set the correct time with an automatic setting tool. Also, the time uses the time zone set on the PC. If the time is not intended, check that the time zone is set correctly.
Can I quote tweets?
The official Twitter quote tweet (retweet with old comment) is actually a function to add the URL of the target tweet and tweet it. In Tabtter, the same operation is achieved by inserting the URL of the target tweet in the sentence and posting it together. In addition, the target tweet URL is processed as a quoted tweet conforming to the Twitter official only when it is at the end of the text , in this case the URL will not be counted as the number of characters. You can include the URL of the tweet in the middle of the text, or you can include the URL of multiple tweets, but in this case, except for the last tweet URL at the end of the text, it is counted as the number of characters, and it is also a native quote tweet on the Twitter side. Will not be processed. (Although this does not cause any problems, tweets may not be expanded depending on the official website or other clients. In Tabtter, all tweet URLs in the text will be expanded. )
If you use the quick reply form to make a quoted tweet, the URL will be automatically inserted and posted, so you do not need to include it in the text.
I don't see quoted tweets on the To You tab
Whether or not you can get quoted tweets to you depends on the specifications of Twitter.
In addition, since the quoted tweet is actually a tweet with the URL of a specific tweet added, you can get it by searching for "https://twitter.com/your_name" etc.
It seems that partial search of url is no longer possible.
Unexpected user enters reply destination
When you reply to a tweet with a tagged photo (a photo with information about who is in it), the users included in the tag will automatically be included in the reply. This is a Twitter specification, but since tag information cannot be obtained with the API, it is not possible at this time, so please understand it as a specification. (If you absolutely don't want unexpected users to be included in the reply address, please check the official website in advance.)
I get an error when uploading videos and images
Videos and images require the file to have the correct extension. (Jpeg, png, gif, mp4)
Also, regarding uploadable videos and gif animations, Twitter specifications ( https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/v1/media/upload-media)
Please also check / overview
The upper limit of the size in the specifications is image: 3MByte, mp4 video: 50MByte, gif animation: 15MByte, but if the total upload size exceeds 10MByte regardless of the image or video, we recommend posting from the official website. I will. (Because uploading directly to the Twitter server is more efficient and stable)
Is it possible to post at the same time?
Prior to March 15, 2018, Tabtter supported simultaneous posting to multiple accounts in the client and post reservation function, but due to changes in Twitter's terms, all of these simultaneous posting functions have been abolished. In addition, in the post reservation etc. registered before the change, multiple accounts will be displayed in the display itself, but please note that in reality, only the first account will be posted.
Can I post threads?
Thread is a function on the official website that posts tweets in a batch, but internally it is posted by connecting tweets with replies. From Tabtter, if you connect the posts one by one with a reply, we have confirmed that it is recognized as a thread on the official website etc. (as far as you can check here). However, I'm not sure if this method will continue to be recognized as a thread. If you want to make sure to post as a thread, please post from the official website.
Body spaces are ignored
In Tabtter, the posted text is posted without any modification (the data entered in the form is used as it is), but it seems that the space line break at the beginning and end of the text is deleted on the Twitter side. As far as I confirmed, the space in the text seems to be posted as it is, but the detailed specifications on the Twitter side are unknown. Basically, the processing of spaces and line breaks is environment-dependent, so please post on the assumption that it will not be reproduced 100%.
Regarding accounts etc.
About the free version
Currently, Tabtter has a paid version (app name: Tabtter Premium) and a free version (app name: Tabtter).
The paid version and the free version are provided as independent services due to various circumstances, but the programs used are almost the same, and there are almost no functional restrictions in the free version.
Please note that the paid version can be used free of charge for 30 days after the first login, but this is a trial period of the paid version and is different from the free version. The free version is indefinite and completely free.
If you want to upgrade from the free version to the paid version, you need to log out of the free version and then log in to the paid version again because the app is different. Since mail posting and multi-account are not data compatible, it is necessary to set again on the paid version side, but since the client setting data is common, you can export the settings of the free version and import it with the paid version. You can take over the environment.
What is the difference between the paid version and the free version?
The paid version also provides background tools such as posting reservations and analytics, depending on the plan as well as the client. On the client, there is almost no difference in basic functions between the paid version and the free version, but the free version displays advertisements. In principle, the free version does not have usage support.
Currently, as a function that can be used only in the paid version on the client,
- Follow / unfollow notification / log reference
- URL shortening
- Change posting app (authentication / posting with your own Twitter app)
- Original notification sound, upload background image
And so on.
For multi-account, the free version can use up to 3 accounts (main 1 + sub 2). You can also use email posts.
Why set a password in the free version?
In the free version, you need to set a password to log in after the first login (after authentication with Twitter). This is prepared in advance for the purpose of avoiding such a situation because even existing users may not be able to log in via authentication if the free version is authenticated by Twitter in the future. It is what you are doing.
Therefore, you can usually use either authentication login or password login (unless you are in a regulated state).
For security reasons, please use a password different from your Twitter password. (Of course, this server hashes it and saves it in a secure state.) Also, the password is "Reset login password" in the client account menu (the menu that appears by clicking your icon on the right end of the client toolbar). You can change it at any time from. Please note that if the authentication token used to access Twitter expires, you will not be able to access Twitter even if you can log in to the free version. (Usually, the Twitter authentication token has no expiration date, so it will not expire unless you manually cancel the link from the official website.) The
paid version has a separate application itself, and the number of users is the maximum number of users. Since it is unlikely that you will reach the above, we do not provide a login function with such a password.
In the free version, the message "Request for unblocking" appears.
This service is a service that a limited number of users consumes a lot of resources, and from the viewpoint of fairness, we think that it is not preferable for only some users to hide advertisements with ad blocking. I will. The advertisements delivered on this site are only Google AdSense, which is highly reliable in the ad network, and the advertisements are also displayed at the bottom of the screen and are fully considered for use, so for sound service operation Please unblock the ad block and cooperate with us.
You can usually unblock an ad block by adding tabtter.jp, f.tabtter.jp to the ad blocking white list (non-target domains). If your network or security software blocks the ad distributor's domain itself, or if your browser blocks ads by default, use adblock even if you don't use adblock. However, please note that we cannot determine the reason why it is blocked, so in principle, we cannot take exceptional measures.
In addition, it may be mistakenly recognized as a block due to a temporary connection failure, etc., but in that case, it is usually improved by reloading.
Apart from advertising, ad blocking can also block necessary elements and resources and cause malfunctions. For this reason as well, please unblock the ad block before using it.
Can it be used by private users?
Okay. However, you must approve the follow request from the Twitter site.
Archive / diary usernames and icons are still out of date
The user name and icon displayed in the archive / diary will get the latest information when a new diary or archive is created. However, it will be cached for 48 hours, so you will not get the latest information during this time. In other words, if you create a new archive or diary after 48 hours or more have passed since the change of user information, you can surely update it.
Changed @user ID on Twitter
@User ID can be changed on Twitter, and Tabtter may cause some problems due to inconsistency with old data, but usually it is automatically updated and causes a fatal problem. There is none. If the problem persists, try re-authenticating the target user or clearing your browser's cache.
Problems can also occur if another user changes the @user ID. For example, if the target user uses color labels, mute, soft blocks, etc., you will need to reset them yourself.
I want to unsubscribe
Tabtter does not have its own account, so basically there is no concept of withdrawal.
The customer information that remains on Tabtter's server includes basic information on Twitter accounts, OAuth tokens, saved settings, drafts, posting reservations, and other background tool data, but most of these settings and data are You can delete it yourself. Basic information of Twitter account, OAuth token, purchase history cannot be deleted due to system management, but it is necessary for system management of this site, and it will not cause any inconvenience or disadvantage to the customer. Thank you for your understanding.
If the paid version expires or the trial period expires, the client will not be able to start, so if you need to delete it, please delete it with plenty of time in advance.
In addition, the token that authenticated Tabtter is still saved, but it can be invalidated on the Twitter official website, so please operate it by yourself if necessary.
